Very well written work that draws the reader in quickly. The suspense is palpable and I couldn't wait to turn the page to see what memory would be recalled.The erotic portion of the book is also well written and not over the top. Leaving the best of both worlds, a sexy story that has a well developed plot. Looking forward to her next book.

Let me be clear - I am giving this a 3.75 stars - with reservations. I seriously thought that this was a companion novel and trotted off to to search this author so that I could find the novel that it was paired with - only to find this is the author's first published work. I kept feeling like I should know what the House of Valentine was once I realized that it was NOT a companion novel, I was even more confused. I have the feeling that the author realizes that not all readers want everything spelled out to them in minute detail; however, the author held back just a bit TOO much, which results in some confusion. Well, let's be honest - a LOT of confusion. However, I kept plugging along because (a) I didn't have a constant grammatical tally going in my head of how horrible the book was and (b) this first-time author really caught me up in wondering what the hell was actually going to happen in the book. The intrigue and the romance was captivating, but there is a fine line between an author assuming intelligence from their readers and/or counting on their ability mind-read. As a Unlimited book, I say GO FOR IT - because, like me, you'll find yourself hoping that this author finds an editor to help her smooth out those rough edges and can put out the next book in the House of Valentine!
I actually really liked the plot of this book, and the story. It was interesting and I kept reading because I wanted to know what would happen.
That being said I kept feeling like I was missing something. Like something had been explained along the way and I didn't catch on, but in reality I feel like we were just supposed to assume a bunch of stuff as readers. There was some serious back story missing and it all felt very jumbled and unorganized at times.
There were a few spelling/grammatical errors and they were a bit confusing because they were so off that I could figure out what was actually meant to be said.
I'd be interested to read more about this group, if they story was better organized!
